This is my first attempt at night lightning. My girlfriend’s sister called at 9:14pm tonight and mentioned there was constant lightning occurring from the east (presumably over the ocean). Within minutes I was in my car and on my way to Lake Worth Beach.
This boat was traveling back and forth long before this photo was taken and unfortunately made its way into multiple pictures. The one shot where I’m pleased the boat was in close proximity.
Met Jim (sjim2004) at palm beach at 6:00am with the intent of photographing the sunrise. We found another suitable subject just before leaving.
I have come across these beautiful spiders on several occasions. I haven’t shot macro in several months and this spider was very challenging. Was not particular fond of how close I had to get to take a picture.

I found these tiny gray bird nymph grasshoppers while closely examining plants at Loxahatchee this morning. Very tiny. This plant had them perched everywhere.
The ant on the upper right was especially small. This other insect seemed to wait on the opposite side as if it were some kind of western standoff. I am unfamiliar with this larger insect. It looked to me like some kind of massive ant. Much larger than a bull ant. The body was the size of a common wasp.
