Green Hoverfly – Mid-flight

Found this green hoverfly today. I am not entirely sure who was observing who. I stayed perfectly still other than maneuvering my camera and this fly seemed to follow me around; sometimes hovering only inches from my face.. I stayed with the subject for almost a half hour and I was gradually able to get closer and this is my best result. At this point I was only inches away as it hovered in the air.
