Went to Okeeheelee hoping that the hummingbirds were present on the firebush plants. At least I can always count on insects. – Happy thanksgiving everyone!

I can’t say that I have witnessed the mating ritual of leaf notchers. I heard hummingbirds in the area and watched them on a nearby plant. Ran, changed lenses, and they never reappeared!

I keep finding more keepers… Here goes another one. The 100-400 is always a little soft when I rely on autofocus and my best results are if I am in full manual (exposure) and manually focusing and not relying on auto focus. It’s just such a pain!

This was one of the smallest ladybugs I have seen. Barely noticeable in fact. I believe I used extension tubes here.

The Spanish moss at circle b is amazing. Would have been wonderful to spend more time in the early morning and late afternoon to shoot the sunlight funneling thru these trees.

We noticed eagles flying throughout the day, but most were out of range to pull off any kind of respectable shot. Toward the days end, when we setup for landscape shots, this juvenile bald eagle was hunting around Lake Hancock.
